Professional Structure

The network is structured into three professional recognition tiers, reflecting increasing levels of experience, responsibility, and impact.

(Professional Entry Recognition – Awareness & Applied Practice)

For early-career professionals and practitioners who demonstrate foundational knowledge and practical exposure to cybersecurity or related roles.

Professional certifications (including LCST Academy certifications) may be used as evidence of competency.
Admission to the ISSA Egypt Cybersecurity Network represents professional recognition, not academic or exam-based certification.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • 1–5 years of professional experience in IT, cybersecurity, digital systems, investigations, or related fields
  • Holder of a relevant cybersecurity or technology qualification or professional certification (e.g. LCST Academy, BUE Master’s Program in Cybercrime Investigations, IEEE / ASK PC alumni pathways, or recognised international certifications)
  • Working in, or aspiring toward, roles related to cybersecurity operations, governance, investigations, risk, or compliance
  • Demonstrates basic awareness of cybersecurity principles, threats, and organisational risk

Recognition:

  • Issued a Cybersecurity Associate Recognition Certificate
  • Listed in the Associate Directory
  • Eligible to access ISSA workshops, awareness initiatives, and professional development activities

🟠 Level 2: Cybersecurity Practitioner

(Recognised Professional Status – Operational & Advisory Level)

For experienced professionals with hands-on responsibilities, advisory roles, or leadership in cybersecurity-related functions.

Admission at this level reflects applied professional practice and contribution, not the completion of a specific course or examination.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Typically 5–10+ years of applied professional experience in cybersecurity, digital forensics, GRC, incident response, OSINT, risk management, or related domains
  • Holder of advanced industry or professional certifications (e.g. CISSP, CISM, GIAC, ISO Lead Implementer, CEH, or equivalent professional qualifications, including LCST professional-level certifications)
  • Provides guidance, mentoring, or advisory support within their organisation or to external stakeholders
  • May lead operational teams, training activities, investigations, or cybersecurity transformation initiatives
  • Demonstrates contribution to professional or public cybersecurity awareness (e.g. articles, webinars, workshops, institutional initiatives)

Recognition:

  • Issued a Cybersecurity Practitioner Recognition Certificate
  • Listed in the Cybersecurity Practitioner Directory
  • Eligible for expert engagement opportunities, advisory roles, and ISSA-led task forces

(Senior Recognition – Strategic, Policy & National Impact)

For recognised leaders, senior consultants, academics, and advisors with a demonstrated record of strategic impact in cybersecurity, cybercrime prevention, or digital governance.

Recognition at this level is granted based on professional impact, leadership, and peer evaluation, not examination or certification pathways.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • 10+ years of professional leadership, innovation, or strategic responsibility in cybersecurity, cybercrime, national security, legal technology, or related domains
  • Leads, designs, or advises national, regional, or multi-national programs or initiatives
  • Recognised contributor to policy, education, research, or professional standards
  • Published author, senior advisor, or recognised speaker at national or international level
  • Actively engaged in capacity building with international organisations, judicial bodies, regulatory authorities, or regional institutions

Recognition:

  • Issued a Cybersecurity Expert Recognition Certificate
  • Listed in the Expert Directory with a detailed professional profile
  • Eligible to represent ISSA Egypt in public forums, global partnerships, advisory engagements, and high-level initiatives
