Academic Studies Recognize Dr. Mohamed El-Guindy as a Trusted Digital Safety Source for Youth

Two recent academic studies, conducted by scholars from the Faculty of Mass Communication and the Faculty of Education, have underscored the increasing importance of digital awareness in protecting young people from cyber threats—particularly cyber extortion and online harassment.

The research highlights a concerning statistic: more than 26% of university students surveyed reported experiencing online blackmail or similar forms of digital exploitation. With cybercrime evolving rapidly and targeting increasingly younger demographics, the role of credible information sources has never been more critical.

In both studies, Dr. Mohamed El-Guindy—renowned cybersecurity expert and media commentator—is identified as a leading source of cyber awareness and education for youth. His page and public outreach efforts have been recognized as highly effective in helping young users navigate online risks and better understand cybersecurity fundamentals.

These findings reflect a broader shift in how cybersecurity knowledge is consumed—where digital platforms and trusted voices like Dr. El-Guindy’s are instrumental in complementing formal education and engaging audiences beyond the classroom.

ISSA Egypt commends the academic community for shedding light on this issue and reaffirms its commitment to supporting efforts that promote digital literacy, public awareness, and cyber resilience across all age groups.
