Proposal to Create an Internet Ombudsman adopted by the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe.

It is our pleasure to announce that the Parliamentary Assembly of The Council of Europe adopted the proposal from our advisory board member, Mr. Dan Shefet to create an Internet Ombudsman.

this proposal was based on Mr. Shefet’s Policy Recommendation in a report to UNESCO (30th September 2016) and the bill that he drafted for a French Senator.

It reflects in its entirety the Expert Report which he submitted to the Council of Europe on 20th April 2018.

This proposal will hopefully allow us to strike the balance between free speech and other human rights in a transparent and discerning manner.

Congratulations to Mr. Dan Shefet for this achievement.
