Digital Evidence and OSINT Workshop at the British University in Egypt

Dr. Mohamed El-Guindy, President of ISSA Egypt and a leading international expert in cybercrime and cybersecurity, recently delivered a specialized training workshop at the British University in Egypt (BUE), focusing on Digital Evidence and Open-Source Investigations.

The workshop was held in collaboration between the Faculty of Law at BUE and the Public Prosecution Office, as part of their ongoing efforts to enhance prosecutorial capabilities in the digital era.

Workshop Highlights:

Designed exclusively for members of the Public Prosecution Office, the workshop covered:

  • Core principles of digital evidence and forensic integrity
  • Chain of custody procedures in criminal proceedings
  • Metadata analysis and verification techniques
  • The role of OSINT tools in modern investigations
  • Real case studies involving cyber-enabled crime

The session was co-delivered by Judge Mostafa Abdel-Aziz, a key faculty member in BUE’s Professional Master’s in Cybercrime Investigations program, which has become a national model for postgraduate education at the intersection of law and technology.

Academic Collaboration in Action
The workshop reflects the strength of the partnership between BUE’s Faculty of Law and the Public Prosecution Office, established to deliver practical, high-impact training for legal professionals. It also reinforces the value of the Professional Master’s in Cybercrime Investigations—Egypt’s first accredited master’s program in this field—validated in partnership with London South Bank University (UK).

Continuing Our Mission
As the founder of this unique academic program and a lifelong advocate for cybersecurity education, Dr. El-Guindy remains committed to supporting public institutions in developing the skills and knowledge necessary for effective justice in the digital age.
