Cybercrime Training Program for Sudanese Public Prosecution

The ISSA Egypt Chapter is pleased to announce that its President, Dr. Mohamed El-Guindy, Senior Cybercrime and Cybersecurity Consultant at the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) and senior cybersecurity and cyber crime advisor to the Egyptian Public Prosecution, proudly participated in a three-day specialized training program (19–21 October 2025) organized by the Egyptian Public Prosecution for members of the Sudanese Public Prosecution.

The program was held under the directives of Egypt’s Public Prosecutor, Counselor Mohamed Shawky, as part of the Public Prosecution’s 2025–2030 Training Strategy, with a focus on international cooperation, exchange of expertise, and capacity building in the legal, cultural, and technological fields.

Organized by the Judicial Inspection Department in collaboration with the Institute of Criminal Research and Training, the program welcomed a delegation of ten members from the Sudanese Public Prosecution representing various prosecutorial ranks. The program is part of ongoing cooperation between the Egyptian Public Prosecution and other Arab public prosecution offices that are members of the Association of Arab Public Prosecutors, aiming to strengthen professional, academic, and technical expertise of public prosecutors.

The training curriculum covered a wide array of specialized and high-impact topics, including:

  • Cybersecurity concepts and Egypt’s experience in addressing cyber risks.
  • Comparative legal frameworks between Egyptian and Sudanese legislation.
  • International conventions and agreements governing cybercrime.
  • Definition and classification of cybercrimes, including system intrusions and related offenses.
  • Digital evidence (electronic and forensic evidence): methods for collection, preservation, and analysis.
  • Techniques for examining digital evidence and tracking cybercriminal activities.
  • Use of artificial intelligence tools to detect and expose falsified or manipulated digital content.
  • Cryptocurrencies and their misuse in criminal activities.
  • Mechanisms and procedures for investigating cross-border cybercrimes and handling judicial assistance requests.

This training program provided a comprehensive platform for enhancing technical skills, legal knowledge, and investigative capabilities in cybersecurity and cybercrime. It reinforces the shared commitment between Egypt and Sudan to build stronger prosecutorial capacity, enhance international coordination, and advance digital resilience across the region.
