Dr El-Guindy attends the Supreme Council of Universities Committee meeting at the ERI

Our president Dr. Mohamed El-Guindy, Member of the Computer and Information Sector Committee at the Supreme Council of Universities, attended the Committee’s official meeting held at the headquarters of the Electronics Research Institute, as part of ongoing efforts to support the development of computer science, informatics, and emerging technology sectors in Egypt.

The meeting was held during the Committee’s field visit to the Electronics Research Institute, led by Prof. Mohamed Essam Khalifa, Chairman of the Computer and Information Sector Committee and former Dean of the Faculty of Computers and Information at Ain Shams University, and attended by Prof. Hala Helmy Mohamed Zayed, Secretary of the Committee and Professor of Artificial Intelligence at the Faculty of Computers and Artificial Intelligence, Benha University, along with distinguished academic leaders and experts.

The visit aimed to review the institute’s advanced research and technical capabilities, and its important role in supporting national digital transformation initiatives, strengthening the knowledge economy, and building strong partnerships between academic and research institutions.

During the visit, the delegation attended a comprehensive presentation outlining the institute’s strategic vision, major research achievements, and applied projects in key areas including artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, cloud computing, robotics, and intelligent systems. The delegation also toured specialized laboratories and reviewed advanced technological infrastructure and innovative research projects that contribute to supporting industry needs and preparing qualified professionals.

The meeting reflects the continued commitment of academic and research leadership to strengthening cooperation, advancing technology education, and supporting innovation. It also highlights the critical role of national research institutions in developing future-ready capabilities and supporting Egypt’s vision for digital transformation and sustainable development.
