Dr. Mohamed Elguindy is participating in the UN CTED technical sessions talking about “How Terrorism is evolving online”. The United Nations Security Council Counter-Terrorism Committee Executive Directorate (CTED) will hold a series of six virtual thematic technical sessions informing the Special Meeting of the Counter-Terrorism Committee (CTC) on “Countering the Use of New and Emerging Technologies for Terrorist Purposes”, to be held in India on 28 October 2022 in Mumbai and 29 October 2022 in New Delhi.
The Special Meeting will focus on three main themes: terrorism financing; unmanned aerial systems (UAS); and Information and Communication Technology (ICT), including the Internet and social media. The CTED-led technical sessions will likewise follow these themes.
